We will dive into lots of games and exercises that focus on facing the unknown and communicating with compassion. Step into a new character! Experiment with monologues! What about silent scenes? These are all part of the magic of improv. Messiness is encouraged.

Exploring Longform

This 8-week class is designed for improvisers who want to dive into the art of longform improv. The first four weeks will focus on the fundamentals—strong scene work, group mind, deconstruction, and heightening patterns—while the second half will be dedicated to learning and performing the Harold. Whether you're new to longform or looking to refine your skills, this class will help you build confidence, make bold choices, and find the fun in the unknown.

Ready to stop overthinking and start yes-anding? In this upbeat and welcoming class, you'll learn how to collaborate with others to create spontaneous, unplanned comedic scenes—no script, no pressure. Your instructor, Dreena, is a long-standing member of the Hackensack-based improv troupe Howdy Stranger and knows a thing or two about finding the funny in the unexpected.

Whether you're brand new or brushing off your improv chops, this class is all about loosening up, having fun, and surprising yourself.

Sandy's improv teaching style draws significant inspiration from the classic improv show, "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" This class utilizes many of the beloved and familiar games from that show as a framework for learning.

Students will discover how to effectively use their voices, bodies, and imaginations to create diverse characters and scenarios, and to tell engaging stories through a variety of improv games and exercises.

- Make active and positive choices
- Support & enjoy the physical, verbal and emotional reality of the scene
- It’s an actor’s job to justify all the information that’s been established and use it in the scene
