Professional instruction. Small classes. Real growth.

Rocket Improv classes are taught by professional teaching artists who are also experienced improvisers. These are adults who know how to run a room, guide group dynamics, and meet kids exactly where they are. Our instructors have trained and performed with institutions like Second City, UCB, The Groundlings, and more, and they bring that same level of expectation and craft into the classroom.

We keep classes small on purpose. Smaller classes mean more stage time, more feedback, and more chances for your child to practice speaking up, collaborating, and taking creative risks in a supportive environment.

This is why families choose Rocket Improv. High-quality instruction. High-touch attention. That’s the Rocket Improv difference.

  • Rocket Fuel

OPEN LEVEL • BEGINNER THROUGH INTERMEDIATE

    3rd – 5th grades

Rocket Fuel builds on the basics of improv through creative, imaginative play in a small-group setting. Students are introduced to foundational improv skills through age-appropriate games and guided exercises, while constantly creating their own scenes and characters. Cooperative play, teamwork, and confident participation are encouraged throughout—and because this is our most active age group, we keep kids moving.
Fall and Spring semesters culminate in a low-pressure, informal Share for families.

Improv and Comedy Writing for Teens

  • Moonwalkers

OPEN LEVEL • BEGINNER THROUGH INTERMEDIATE

    8th—10th Grade

Moonwalkers is designed for teens who are preparing to step into bigger social, academic, and leadership settings — and want to feel more confident speaking up, thinking on their feet, and working with others.

Through structured improv games and exercises, students practice skills such as collaboration, clear communication, emotional awareness, and presentational confidence. They learn how to make decisions quickly, support a group, and stay grounded even when they’re unsure what comes next.

This class challenges teens to sharpen how they communicate — not just what they say, but how they listen, collaborate, and respond in real time. It’s a great fit for students who want to become more articulate, adaptable, and confident in high-stakes situations.

  • The Writer's Room

OPEN LEVEL • BEGINNER THROUGH INTERMEDIATE

    9th—12th Grade

The Writer’s Room is a smart, creative class for teens who enjoy thinking deeply, noticing patterns, and developing a strong point of view — whether they’re already outspoken or still finding their voice.

Students learn the fundamentals of comedy writing through hands-on exercises in idea generation, joke structure, sketch writing, and comedic voice. They explore formats like sketch, stand-up, and late night while building skills in collaboration, clarity, and articulating ideas with confidence.

The class is taught by Ethan T. Berlin, an Emmy Award–nominated television comedy writer whose credits include Billy On the Street, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, and IFC’s Bunk. Ethan also teaches comedy writing at the graduate level and brings real-world industry experience into every class, giving students a rare look at how professional comedy is actually made.
