A week of summer day camp that is ALL improv ALL the time!

Improv Camp is a specialty boutique day camp for older kids, tweens, and young teens of all performance experience levels. Run by professional performers and teaching artists, this inclusive and welcoming program gives every camper the chance to grow their confidence, creativity, and comedic instincts in small-group settings designed for real learning and big fun.

Headed up by Rocket Improv founder and veteran improviser and instructor Lulu French, our camp focuses on finding the funny through listening, supporting your fellow troupe mates, and building on each other’s ideas with truth and imagination.  We believe that Improv is not just about β€œbeing funny!” Well, we do get rather silly… but really it’s about finding the funny in what is true - sometimes painfully true. After all, tragedy is comedy! We want to stay present enough to catch the magic of the moment when it happens.

We achieve these goals by playing fun, age appropriate games that teach various improv skills such as emotional work, object and environment work, character creation, teamwork, spontaneity, and presentational skills. All our

counselors are actors who have experience teaching improv to youths.

FAQs

Can I request that my camper be with older and/or more experienced campers? Can I request that my camper be in a group with their friend?

Our Improv Camp is a multi-age camp where campers will be improvising with campers of different ages and levels of experience. Depending on how many campers sign up, we will divide up groups based on age, but unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate requests to be with older or more experienced campers. We DO however take requests for campers to be in groups with their friends and will do our best to accommodate those requests.

Can my potential camper try out camp for a day before we sign-up?

Sorry, but because our registration closes a week before camp starts for planning purposes, we are not able to take on new students once camp has started. But you are welcome to visit and see camp in person and up close!
